AMP Human - PR Lotion is the world's first and only sports lotion to contain the natural electrolyte sodium bicarbonate. The PR lotion works on the basis of the InnerEdge™ technology, which means that it delivers sodium bicarbonate through the skin to the muscles. It has been scientifically proven that PR lotion improves performance, reduces muscle pain and fatigue, and contributes to faster recovery after training or competition. Sodium bicarbonate moderates the build-up of lactic acid in muscles during high-intensity physical activity, allowing for prolonged high-intensity training or competition. The sodium bicarbonate in PR lotion also doesn't cause gastrointestinal issues as it is absorbed through the skin and not the intestines.

PR lotion reduces "muscle fiber" after training or competition, allowing us faster recovery and training/competition at high loads. Athletes using PR Lotion can complete 25% more intervals at peak effort before fatigue sets in. Additionally, after using PR Lotion, athletes reported a 53% reduction in Delayed Onset Muscle Soreness (DOMS) duration post-workout or competition.

In cooperation with Red Bull, research was carried out into increasing power and performance. The analysis showed that the PR lotion helped increase the strength of athletes by 16%. They also measured 11% more lactate in the blood and proved that sodium bicarbonate mitigates the build-up of lactic acid in the muscles. The use of sodium bicarbonate is also endorsed by the IOC (International Olympic Committee) as one of the five effective and scientifically backed dietary supplements.

Using PR lotion is completely safe. Each batch of PR lotion undergoes rigorous testing. Pr Lotion does not contain any banned substances, as evidenced by the Informed Sport and Informed Choice certificates.

WHY IS SODIUM BICARBONATE IMPORTANT?

Electrolytes are absolutely necessary for the normal and optimal functioning of our body. The most common electrolytes are sodium (Na+), chloride (Cl-), magnesium (Mg2+), potassium (K+) and calcium (Ca2+). Sodium bicarbonate (HCO3 - ) is despised by most. Bicarbonate is known to buffer hydrogen ions produced by muscles as a byproduct of high-intensity physical activity. Acid-base balance directly affects performance levels and power output.

Sodium bicarbonate is the primary buffer in the body, responsible for maintaining the body's acid-base balance. It is crucial for the optimal functioning of muscles and nerves while helping to maintain the integrity of muscle cells.

RESEARCH BY DR. MARK KERN OF UNIVERSITY OF SAN DIEGO (DEPARTMENT OF EXERCISE AND NUTRITION)

Claim 1: PR lotion can reduce Delayed Onset Muscle Soreness (DOMS) by more than 50%. Conclusion: Test subjects reported a drastic decrease in muscle fiber within 24 to 48 hours after exercise. Sample: (n=9 placebo and n=11 subjects, p=0.007).

Claim 2: PR lotion can reduce heart rate and perceived exertion during high-intensity exercise. Results: After a 5-minute stopwatch, subjects using PR lotion had a significantly lower mean heart rate compared to the placebo group (177 ± 11 bpm vs. 180 ± 9, p = 0.03). At 15 minutes into the 1-hour time trial, subjects had a 3.3% lower heart rate (154 ± 12 vs. 159 ± 10, p = 0.004) and a 3% lower average perceived exertion (RPE) when doing the Lotion used PR (13 ± 1.2 vs. 13.4 ± 1.2, p = 0.054).

Claim 3: PR lotion can increase lactate availability during high-intensity training. Result: Subjects completed a 3-minute ramp test, a 30-second sprint to failure, and a 5-minute time trial. People using PR lotion had 11% more blood lactate compared to the placebo group (10.80 ± 3.2 mmol/L, compared to 9.7 ± 3.1, p = 0.054).

PR LOTION CONTRIBUTES TO IMPROVING PERFORMANCE

Adam Mills (MSed, RCEP) of the Endurance Athlete Training Center conducted a study to see if using PR lotion helped improve performance. He wanted to evaluate the effect of using PR lotion on performance during high-intensity interval training on a bicycle. The placebo group used plain lotion.

The test log looked like this:

  • 4 min normal pace
  • 1 minute at 90% FTP
  • 4 min normal pace
  • 5 minutes at 100% FTP
  • 6 min normal pace

The intervals followed:

  • 30s at 140% TT power
  • 20 sec break

Cyclists using PR lotion averaged 17 (± 4.9) intervals and the placebo group 13.6 (± 3.9) intervals. Conclusion: Using PR lotion can help increase performance by 25%.

Another study was conducted by Craig Broeder, Per Lundstam and Brad Wilkins in collaboration with the Red Bull High Performance Center

In the first part of the study, the athletes performed the Wingate tests, followed by a 10-minute rest period. The Wingate test is a standard bicycle ergometer test that measures anaerobic power and anaerobic capacity. The test requires the driver to generate maximum power in 30 seconds. The goal of the repeated tests was to tire the riders out before the next test, a 5-minute time trial.

Results: Cyclists were able to perform better and last longer in the first 45 seconds after the start of the time trial. On average, cyclists using PR lotion had a 6.7% higher average power output compared to the placebo group. They also had up to 43.6% more power output in the first 45 seconds of the time trial (breakout force).

In the second part of the study, athletes performed leg extensions on an exercise machine equipped with a dynamometer that measured strength, speed, eye and joint work. Results: Athletes using PR lotion achieved an average power output (W) of 201±98, while the placebo group achieved 182±87. The PR lotion users also achieved a higher mean strain rate of 0.303 ± 0.109 m/s compared to the placebo group, which achieved 331 ± 0.110 m/s. Athletes using PR lotion lifted an average of 6-16% heavier leg extension loads.

Conclusion: PR lotion can improve muscle contraction rate, which allows athletes to achieve higher power output. There is also a greater adaptation to training.

THE EFFECT OF PR LOTION ON HYDRATION - A RESEARCH STUDY BY ROBERT A. HUGGINS AND DOUGLAS J. CASA (UNIVERSITY OF CONNECTICUT)

The aim of the study was to evaluate the effects of PR lotion on hydration status and fluid balance in humans exposed to passive heat stress. Twenty men took part in the study.

For the first 3 days, subjects followed a normal hydration protocol followed by 5 hours of passive heat exposure. A 7-day protocol followed, in which the men were divided into a placebo group and a group that used 50g of PR lotion. Both groups were hyperhydrated (25 ml fluid/kg muscle mass over a period of 60 minutes).

Results: The use of PR lotion resulted in greater fluid retention in a hot environment. The 80-kilogram athlete retained an average of 0.4 liters more water than the placebo group.

RESEARCH STUDY BY DR. JOHN HALLIWILL, PROF. AND CHIEF OF THE DEPARTMENT OF PHYSIOLOGY AT THE UNIVERSITY OF OREGON

The goal of these tests was to determine the effectiveness of the PR lotion and how effectively it delivered sodium bicarbonate through the skin. The study included 8 healthy participants who were fitted with intramuscular and intradermal (in the skin) microdialysis tubes inserted into the vastus lateralis and the skin.

The objectives of the study were to determine:

1. Energy Production Efficiency – Lactic acid can be a limiting factor in energy production.

2. Muscle Performance - A drop in pH results in a drop in performance. This drop can be mitigated by raising the pH value.

3. Fatigue - the nerve endings in muscles are very sensitive to pH changes. When the body detects an excessive amount of hydrogen ions, the brain sends a signal to the muscles to reduce intensity.

Results: The use of PR lotion led to an improvement in muscle and blood pH balance. There was a 28% reduction in muscle acidity and blood pH. They also observed a 9% reduction in acidity in the first 120 minutes after applying the PR lotion.

GUIDELINES FOR USE OF PR LOTION

What is PR lotion?

PR Lotion uses revolutionary technology to deliver sodium bicarbonate to muscles through the skin. Sodium bicarbonate is an electrolyte that is important for regulating the body's pH levels. High-intensity physical activity causes an excess of H+ ions, commonly known as lactic acid. Bicarbonate helps neutralize these ions, supporting optimal muscle function.

PR lotion enables more performance and intensity during training or competition. Research has shown a 25% increase in performance with high-intensity interval training. Also, research has shown a 53% reduction in muscle fiber the day after exercise. The difference between PR lotion and other lotions is that PR lotion contains bicarbonate, which neutralizes lactic acid, while other lotions contain either menthol (cooling) or camphor (warming) and act on the receptors, which is only felt as pain relief at the moment.

Use PR Lotion before intensive or extremely strenuous training and before a competition. Apply 1 roll of PR lotion or 20g of gel to each leg or muscle group to be used. Apply the PR lotion at least 20 minutes before starting the activity. The gel is effective up to 5 hours after application.

The reactions of the athletes are as follows:

Day 1: Legs are not as tired or heavy.

Day 2: Still feeling better than usual. Maybe it's really working.

Day 3: I feel really good. Good point.

Day 4: I feel like I can train normally and my legs are ready for high impact.

Purpose of use:

PR lotion is intended for use before high-intensity physical activity (training, competition). Apply 1 sachet (20 g lotion) to the desired muscle group and massage in gently. We recommend using it 20 minutes before the start of the activity. Warning: Make sure that the PR lotion does not come into contact with mucous membranes or eyes. Keep out of reach of children. In case of allergies, consult a doctor or pharmacist before use.

Suggested use:

Amp Human is fully absorbed in 30 minutes. As long as you apply it at least 30 minutes prior to any workout or competition, you'll be good to go from the first minute on. Amp lasts about 1 to 2 hours, but that's intensity-dependent.

To help offset DOMS, you can apply Amp PR Lotion after your workout or competition. What you want to do is shower up, then reapply PR Lotion to every muscle group that you know was taxed from your effort, wait 30 minutes, then wash it off after, and your muscles will thank you later.
