Maurten Drink Mix 320 CAF 100 contains a specialized carbohydrate blend of maltodextrin and fructose in a ratio of 1:0.8.
Research shows that the body can absorb approximately 60 g of carbohydrates per hour from a single carbohydrate source such as glucose or maltodextrin. By combining multiple carbohydrate transport pathways, Maurten’s carbohydrate matrix enables intake of up to 90 g of carbohydrates per hour as part of an appropriate fueling strategy.
When the drink reaches the acidic environment of the stomach, it forms a hydrogel structure that encapsulates carbohydrates and allows them to pass through the stomach to the intestine where absorption takes place.
